Topic 1: why is it different?
Understanding why boarding environments can pose different and additional safeguarding risks, including peer-on-peer abuse, fgm, radicalisation, and technology.
Topic 2: what do boarding staff need to do?
Looking at the boarding standards and how these apply to staff working in a boarding school, the importance of leadership, whistleblowing (reporting concerns), risk assessment, and the policies and documents set out by the standards.

Overview of contents
This e-learning course is suitable for anyone working with children and young people in a boarding environment. It is specifically designed to give learners a better understanding of the additional safeguarding responsibilities of those working in a boarding environment.
This course assumes that the learner has already completed level 2 child safeguarding training.

This course is available as part of the flick subscription or to license for hosting on your own learning management system. A certificate will be available to download on successful completion (75% pass rate) of this course.
